Welcome to the Seattle Waterfront!
Michelle, Sarah & Val in the dome tank at the Seattle Aquarium.
All four of us downtown near Pike Market.We weren't quite right.
Our first stop was the Seattle Aquarium. This was the one thing that every single one of us wanted to do while on our Seattle trip. The rest of it was an added bonus (*grin*). We enjoyed looking at all the fish and aquatic animals. We got to watch divers feed fish in the dome tank, we watched the octopus flirt with Val (well, it was following her as she walked around the tank, and changing colors as it did so!), and we watched jellyfish.
After lunch we went to Ivars to enjoy clam chowder, fish and fries, shrimp cocktail, and prawns and fries. I am not a big seafood fan, but I do love Ivars. I think it's the memories of eating there when I was little when we would visit Seattle that make it so fun.
After lunch it was time to head to Pike Market. We walked all over the market, looking at the beautiful flowers and fresh produce. We visited the Market Spice Tea store where I bought some delicious tea. We took our pictures with cardboard celebrities. We also spent a great deal of time in the Sur La Table store, dreaming about "someday" when we are rich, or have our own homes, and want to get fun stuff for our kitchens. We took pictures outside the world's first Starbucks. It was great fun.
Looks like Devean George will be around for a little longer...
The agent for Devean George said this morning that the 6-8 swingman has exercised his player option to remain with the Mavericks for next season.
That means George will be under contract for 2009-10 for $1.6 million.
That doesn't necessarily mean he will be on the roster come October. He remains a valuable trade chip if his salary is needed to make the numbers match up on any future deals.
Please Cuban, trade this guy. He brings nothing to this team. It is time to part ways with the Stackhouse and George’s of the NBA world.

 Hollywood actress- singer-designer Jennifer Lopez is halting the production of her clothing line, Sweetface, after six years. She launched the line as a high-end sports and street-wear spin-off of her original JLO clothing collection.Sweetface will stop production of its line once the spring collection hits the stores. Despite the popularity of the clothing line, Jennifer has conformed to stop the work on future designs while the future of the brand is reviewed. Jennifer said that considering the new company strategies, the Sweetface line has been decided to put on hiatus while the brand would be reintroduced in the near future with an entirely new fashion point of view. | |||

Anda pasti ingin memiliki kulit sehat dan bersinar. Tetapi tanpa disadari, Anda memiliki kebiasaan yang membuat kulit menjadi kusam dan tidak sehat. Seperti, terlalu lama mandi dengan air hangat, terlalu sering membersihkan wajah dengan scrub dan masih banyak lagi.
Menurut Mary P. Lupo, seorang dermatologis asal New Orleans, Amerika Serikat kulit kusam dan keriput tidak hanya disebabkan oleh penuaan alami, genetik atau paparan sinar matahari, tetapi juga beberapa kebiasaan buruk. Apa saja dan bagaimana mengubah kebiasaan buruk ini?
1. Tidur hanya miring ke kanan atau ke kiri
Posisi tidur Anda juga menentukan keadaan kulit. Posisi tidur yang miring ke kanan atau ke kiri semalaman akan membuat kulit Anda tertekan bantal dan kekurangan oksigen. Saat bangun kulit akan menjadi tidak segar. Dan, jika kebiasaan tidur dengan hanya satu posisi merupakan kebiasaan Anda, hal ini bisa menimbulkan kerutan di kulit sekitar mata.
Latihlah tubuh Anda untuk tidur telentang, atau menggunakan bantal khusus yang bisa menjaga posisi tubuh. Beberapa ahli menyarankan untuk menggunakan sprei berbahan satin atau sutra karena bisa mengurangi timbulnya kerutan.
2. Terlalu lama mandi dengan air panas
Kurangi kebiasaan mandi dengan air panas dalam waktu lama. Karena, mengakibatkan berkurangnya lapisan lipid yang fungsinya membuat kulit Anda tetap lembab. Lapisan tersebut diproduksi tubuh setiap beberapa jam. Saat kulit kehilangan lapisan tersebut dalam jumlah besar maka yang akan terjadi adalah kulit kering dan iritasi.
Untuk itu, jangan mandi menggunakan air hangat lebih dari 10 menit. Meskipun hal itu bisa membuat tubuh lebih rileks tetapi bisa membuat kulit menjadi kering dan stres.
3. Sering membersihkan wajah dengan scrub alami seperti kacang-kacangan.
Untuk mengangkat sel-sel kulit mati yang terdapat di wajah, Anda pasti pernah melakukan scrubbing atau peeling dengan bahan-bahan alami. Hal itu sering dilakukan untuk mengurangi penggunaan zat kimia.
"Penggunaan bahan-bahan alami seperti kacang-kacangan atau biji-bijian bisa menyebabkan iritasi pada kulit wajah," kaya Lupo.
Menurut Lupo, lebih baik menggunakan sabun pembersih muka yang terdapat mengandung butiran-butiran halus, karena risiko terjadi iritasi lebih kecil. Lupo menambahkan, jika Anda memiliki kulit yang sangat sensitif, gunakanlah campuran baking soda dan air hangat untuk membersihkan wajah.
4. Tidak melakukan pemeriksaan mata secara teratur
Banyak orang yang mengalami kelainan mata seperti minus, plus atau silindris tidak pernah memeriksakan matanya ke dokter mata. Padahal,pemeriksaan medis sangat diperlukan untuk menentukan penggunaan kacamata yang tepat. Karena, jika kita tidak menggunakan kacamata yang tepat yang terjadi kemudian kita sering mengerutkan dahi.
Jika hal itu menjadi sebuah kebiasaan maka menyebabkan kerutan yang sangat terlihat di antara alis. Lupo menyarankan untuk memeriksakan mata minimal dua tahun sekali meskipun Anda tidak memiliki masalah dengan mata.
5. Tidak menata rambut sebelum mencuci muka
Saat pagi hari banyak orang mencuci muka sebelum menata rambut. Padahal akan lebih baik setelah menata rambut Anda baru mencuci muka. Karena, produk penataan rambu yang disemprotkan tidak hanya menempel pada rambut tetapi juga kulit wajah.

ESPN2 will televise approximately 20 games and ESPN Mobile TV (on FLO TV and MobiTV) will also stream select games live to mobile devices.
ESPN Deportes and ESPN360.com will also have rights to Copa del Rey, Spain's domestic cup tournament and ESPNdeportes.com and ESPNSoccernet will deliver complete coverage including highlights and news video, original reporting, columns, match previews, player profiles and real-time scores and data.

Thanks to everyone who gave up shouts for our dogs that marched down Market Street in the SF Pride Parade yesterday. We're all peeling ourselves and our deliciously tired dogs off the floor today after a great weekend celebrating diversity in SF.

The growing potential of Chinese luxury market makes it impossible for the global luxury product manufacturers to ignore the 'dragon nation'.
Luxury brands thrive in the soil of China. Their luxury market including jewelry, leather products, fashion apparels, perfumes etc. reached around $8 billion USD during 2007. A statistics states that, China accounts to 18% of the global luxury consumption. Almost 80% of the top global luxury brands have entered into China. Luxury mavens predict that by 2015, luxury consumption in China will constitute 32% of the global market.
In the recent past many international luxury brands were attracted by the market potential of China. Numerous luxury brands like Versace, Rolex, Chanel, Omega, Dior, Prada, and Zegna have dipped their toes in the country. Lots of luxury brands are manufactured in China. Coach, Prada, Furla, and LV are made in China in big numbers. Numerous factories in Guangdong make a range of brands which are sold in the market for a fortune. II and III tier cities fuel the luxury market:
China has 100 cities with population exceeding one million. With the increasing number of consumers' disposable income, and their inclination to acquire a social strata, and willingness to express uniqueness in their lifestyle, luxury market is fuelled up even in the II and III tier cities. I tier cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing have advanced retail infrastructures and high per capita GDP. The II and III tier cities are also catching up with the former ones. Middle class population in China is estimated to grow and reach 250 million by 2010. With the growing interest of middle class people towards luxury products, the market is heating up. Social status is now becoming imperative for middle income people as well. Luxury products enable the consumers to project a social class. Consumers from II and III tier cities feel the need to 'close the gap' and build up a I tier image. They go in for buying branded items with a hefty price tag only to display their status to others.
Advent of the Chinese 'chuppies':
The young and profligate Chinese generation in between the age group 20-30 known as 'yuppies' or 'chuppies' in China; meaning one to spends all he earns. They are raising a wave of unprecedented commercialism. The chuppies are young, urban, and middle class consumers who are generally white collared, having 100% disposable income. They will be the most powerful consumer group; not only in China but all across the globe within the next 15 years.

1. Segitiga Bermuda
Mendengar Segitiga Bermuda tentu semua orang hampir mengetahui keangkeran tempat tersebut. Misteri hilangnya beberapa kapal laut dan pesawat di kawasan Segitiga Bermuda tentu membuat setiap orang tercekam. Di sana juga diyakini menjadi tempat bersemayam Setan Segitiga Bermuda. Tempat tersebut terletak di antara Miami, Bermuda dan San Juan (Puerto Rico). Cerita yang paling menarik adalah hilangnya semua skuadron pesawat pembom tahun 1945 dan hilangnya beberapa kapal besar. Anehnya, tidak satu pun mayat atau puing pesawat dan kapal ditemukan. Bahkan beberapa alat mencatat gelombang electromagnet yang ganjil di tempat tersebut. Banyak orang yang percaya bahwa tempat tersebut dijadikan markas makhluk luar angkasa.
2. Edinburgh
Kota terpendam Edinburg, selatan Bridge yang terdiri dari jaringan ruwet bawah tanah, kamar, terowong kapal , dan gang telah terbungkus dalam misteri dan intrik selama ini. Kota ini dibuka tahun 1788 tetapi hampir tidak diketahui keberadaannya, sampai tahun 1985 kota tersebut ditemukan kembali. Diyakini di tempat tersebut menjadi tempat hidup dan matinya ribuan orang bawah tanah.
3. Lizzie Borden B & B
Pembunuh Kampak yang menakutkan di sebuah rumah gaya Yunani di Masschusett sekitar 50 mil selatan Boston. Rumah tersebut dibangun tahun 1845 dan dijadikan tempat pembunuhan Abby and Andrew Borden dengan kampak oleh anak mereka sendiri, Lizzi. Namun Lizzi sendiri tidak pernah terbukti melakukan pembunuhan tersebut dan bebas dari tuduhan. Kasus tersebut juga tidak terpecahkan hingga sekarang.
4. London
Di bawah kota kuno di London terdapat kengerian. Kota tersebut dulunya diyakini menjadi saksi kekejaman dengan tulang dan darah berserakan di gang. Jalan Hantu London menjadi tempat paling menyeramkan dan menjadi tempat tur spesial yang diikuti langkah kaki berdarah sang legenda kriminal Jack Ther Ripper.
5. New York
Di jalanan kota New York telah lama menjadi tempat paling aneh. Biasanya tempat ini didatangi oleh dua juta lebih penduduk New York yang berkostum menyeramkan. Acara perayaan lainnya yang menarik untuk dikunjungi adalah perayaan hari besar ghoulish yang berisi Halloween Extravaganza dan Prosesi Setan. St John Divine yang merupakan Katedral Gothik terbesar di New York juga menarik untuk dikunjungi.
6. Roswell
Beberapa orang meyakini bahwa puing-puing pesawat yang jatuh di Roswell, New Mexico tahun 1947 merupakan pesawat alien. Dan insiden Roswell adalah satu kontroversi hingga sekarang. Upaya keras pemerintah Amerika Serikat untuk menutupi fakta, membuat banyak pihak yang yakin bahwa ada sesuatu yang sangat penting sedang disembunyikan. Banyak yang yakin bahwa Roswell adalah satu tempat bersejarah dalam fenomena tentang UFO dan “tamu-tamu dari luar angkasa�.
7. Salem
Kota Salem menyimpan cerita tragedi Salem 1692. Pada tahun tersebut banyak orang yang disiksa dan dibunuh karena dituduh sebagai penyihir meskipun tidak ada bukti. Setiap bulan Oktober, penduduk kota Salem selalu merayakan pesta hantu di beberapa tempat misteri. Salah satunya adalah Witch House, yang merupakan bangunan tertua di Salem dan merupakan rumah Jonathan Corwin, hakim yang bertanggungjawab atas meninggalnya 19 wanita di Salem.
8. Savannah
Savannah merupakan kota tua tertua di Georgia. Kota ini dipercaya mempunyai sejarah panjang terhadap kekerasan dan tragedi berdarah saat revolusi dan perang sipil. Bahkan hal tersebut juga tergambar dari bangunan penduduk di sana yang biasanya di buat beberapa sentimeter di atas tanah. Di sana pengunjung akan di ajak berpetualang di Rumah Bajak Laut yang dalam beberapa abad sangat terkenal. Selain itu Rumah Marshall 1851 yang diyakini menjadi tempat merawat korban perang sipil.
9. Hotel Stanley
Hotel ini dibangun tahun 1909 di pegunungan Colorado. Hotel tersebut terlihat sangat mengesankan dan mempunyai restoran yang sangat terkenal. Namun hotel tersebut juga menyimpan misteri. Seperti yang diyakini penduduk setempat bahwa Flora Stanley, pemilik pertamanya, sering melihat dan mendengar suara istri pertamanya yang telah lama meninggal, bahkan diyakini sering bermain piano bersama. Selain itu, pada lantai empat hotel tersebut terdapat ruangan gelap, dan dari kamar nomor 217 sering kali terlihat sebuah kepala raja.
10. Transylvania
Kota ini terkenal karena sejarah vampir. Penghisap darah tersebut diyakini pernah menguasai kota ini. Transylvania juga diyakini menjadi tempat lahirnya dunia kegelapan. Kota yang terletak di bagian barat Rumania ini menjadi rumah drakula. Kastil Bran yang merupakan kastil para drakula pada abad 14 juga menjadi tempat yang menarik untuk dikunjungi. Sekitar 20 mile dari kota Brasov, yang dibayangi Gunung Bucegi, terdapat rumah yang dulunya milik seorang pangeran Romania yang menjadi vampir.
