Advances in computer technology not only saves a positive impact, but also a negative impact on children. A study showed that the increased use of computers can greatly influence the reading habits in children.
As reported by the Daily Mail, recently, researchers from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden found that the reading skills of children aged 9 and 10 years at his home has at least one computer slump. The researchers compared the reading ability of respondents in Sweden, the United States, Italy, and Hungary.
As a result, since 1991, the ability to read the children in the U.S. and Sweden average fell. Conversely, in Italy and Hungary, whose inhabitants tend to not have a computer at home.
The children in the United States and Sweden are also rarely borrow library books and spend less leisure time for reading. The researchers also found that the ability to read and boys decreased less than girls. This dikarenaan they tend to spend more time on the computer video game.
