Ksubi, then Tsubi, once had rats on their catwalk. And, yesterday, the label Terri Donna, presenting as part of the swim-wear and resort wear group show, sent a bikini-clad model clutching a shaved, dyed dog down the runway of Sydney's Overseas Passenger Terminal.

Reminiscent of the film Legally Blonde, dog and carrier were perfectly coordinated, down to their matching hair bows.

The cute factor was an obvious hit with the audience with many at the show raising their cameras to get a photo. Outside the show, a leashed Pomeranian, also dyed, was sighted.

Animal welfare organisation RSPCA ACT was unimpressed with the use of a dog as an accessory.
Chief executive Michael Linke said he disagreed with the shaving and dyeing of the dog for aesthetic reasons.

''Manipulating the animal, shaving it and changing it for a fashion show is not normal,'' he said. ''To make aesthetic changes to suit humans disrespects the animal.''

While the shaving was unlikely to cause the animal any profound suffering, unless it were susceptible to the cold, it could end up bothered by skin irritation.

The designer, Terri Donna, could not be reached for comment.

The other shows in the group presentation were animal-free. Foxton Danger showed big, bold kaftans with huge tropical flower prints, ruffles to embellish and a kaleidoscope of vivid hues.

Karen Neilsen Collection offered digital prints of giant pairs of sunglasses and butterflies, scanty bikinis and body-baring tops.

India is the second largest producer of viscose filament yarn (VFY) in the world. To promote consumption and to propagate the inherent qualities of viscose yarn, the Association of Man-Made Fibre Industry in India (AMFII) is organizing an event - ‘Viscose Connect 2011’ in Surat on February 25, 2010. The day long activities will conclude with a fashion show in the evening.

The event will begin with a welcome address from Mr OR Chitlange, Vice President – AMFII, who will highlight the need for such value chain connect seminars, especially since the Indian Technical textile industry for the most part, lies in the unorganized sector.

The trader’s perspective will be provided by Mr Devkishen Manghani, President of Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTTA). This will be followed by a designer’s view from Ms Archana Kochhar who will speak on trends and developments followed by Ms Shaina NC. Mr Vijesh Thakkar, Director – Vidilon Exports will speak on behalf of exporters. Ms Rajeshree Netalkar from Dystar India will present her views on colour solutions.

The fashion show will be presented by well known Indian fashion designers which include; Archana Kochhar, Shaina NC, Prashant & Sudha and Amy Billimoria.

Viscose is a viscous organic liquid used to make rayon and cellophane. Viscose is becoming synonymous with rayon, a soft material commonly used in sarees, salwar suits, wedding gowns, scarves, embroidery, shirts, innerwear etc..

The R&D which went into discovery of the viscose fibre is the result of efforts to create a cheaper substitute for the expensive silk fibre. It was first manufactured as celluosic fibre. Invented in 1884 in France, it was first commercialized in 1910 by US based - Avtex Fibres Inc.

Unlike most man-made fibres, rayon is not synthetic. It is made from wood pulp, a cellulosic based raw material which is naturally-occurring, bio-degradable and is a renewable resource. It is eco-friendly & similar to those of natural cellulosic fibres, such as cotton or linen, than those of other man-made fibres such as nylon or polyester.

I came across with this vid when I was looking for any updates on ºC-ute.
I believe this was a Fashion Show promotion campaign for HungryAngry? I'm not too sure... but it's rather interesting to see them not only being walking models, but dressed up like goths =D
I honestly didn't see that coming, but some of them actually suits =)

Aaanyway, here is the vid I'm talking about.

It's low res and it's hard to tell who they are, but I think the line ups are:

Umeda Erika
Yajima Maimi
Suzuki Airi
Konno Asami
Hagiwara Mai
Okai Chisato
Miyoshi Erika
Ogawa Makoto
Sengoku Minami
Ishikawa Rika

I wonder why Nakky and Kanna's not there...
