Alright, I am just going to come out and say it... someone's been pissing in my cheerios. Okay, yes, I meant that metaphorically. I usually never eat cheerios, maybe for that specific reason? Moving right along... It's been a hellish week. 6 days into 2011 and my bootayyy is getting kicked... Now I don't want to blame it all on 2011 but we haven't started off as best friends quite yet. I'm hoping our relationship standing begins to improve with time.
Since it's been a hellish week, I have had to adapt to trying to stay afloat in this nasty storm, and I thought, "hey I might as well share the survival reminders just in case someone else is experiencing the same thing."
How to survive the dark moments - by Rasha (insert last name here)
- Keep looking forward, keep looking to the future, to all you might be.
- Dance in your underwear often.
- Don't let old mistake or misfortunes hold you down, learn from them. Forgive yourself or others and MOVE on.
- Do not be discouraged by adversity, instead meet it as a challenge.
- Be empowered by the courage it takes you to overcome obstacles.
- Laugh at yourself.
- Believe in yourself, like so many others do!
- Remember PUSH. Pray Until Something Happens. (Ok, to be honest I can't take credit for this one, a dear friend told me it a while back and it's kinda been a motto)
- Eat lots of chocolate
- You like everyone else WILL make mistakes, accept and learn from them.
- Be interested in others and what they might teach you, but do not look for yourself in other peoples approval.
- and last but certainly not least... keep swimming, when the tide is at its highest, its also closest when it's going to settle... Push through it.
