Bubba Smith

Charles “Bubba” Smith, who was probably best known as Police Academy’s Moses Hightower has died.

The actor and American Football star was discovered at his home by his caretaker, and it is currently thought he died from natural causes.

The 66 year old, who was as well known for his towering 6’ 7” height as anything else, was pronounced dead when authorities arrived at his Baldwin Hills home following receiving a 911 call yesterday.

As well as his Police Academy roles, Bubba also played nine seasons in the NFL, with the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Rangers and Houston Oilers, and won Super Bowl V with the Colts.

Fellow Police Academy actors G W Bailey and Michael Winslow stated their disbelief with his passing. Saying they were both “shocked and devastated” calling Bubba a “good friend” and “one of a kind.”
