Following the win of South African Idol, Elvis Blue’s debut single “The Things My Father Said” made us all wonder, is there a story to the song? And the answer is yes…
According to reports his parents Mila Venter and Paul Hoogendyk got divorced when he was in grade 1 and his father relocated to America

Did you notice the video clip from his dad during last weeks broadcast… so sweet, even Elvis mentioned that it made him emotional. Furthermore, Mila remarried Ds. Piet Venter, reverend of the Dutch Reformed Church and Elvis stated that he’s got a very good relationship with his “second father”
One last thing, did you notice the gorgeousness of Elvis’ wife, Chireze Hoogendyk? She is such a stunner and so supportive of her husband!
We can’t wait for moooorrrreeee Elvis Blue, bring it on!

Elvis Blue, 30 from George has taken the coveted title as the new South African Idol. Most will agree that Elvis deserved the win from the “get go” and he has stolen a lot of hearts (…and fingertips with all the phone calls and texting – yet, all worth it)
South Africa has decided, congrats Elvis!
So… what’s this latest development of sharing the prize money – we want “in” on this story… Regardless, what a noble man – we salute you!

The boys performed their hearts out earlier this evening on the live broadcast of South African Idol and in only 48 hours we will know the fortune of Elvis Blue, 30 from George and Lloyd Cele, 28 residing from Durban
Elvis Blue, the next SA Idol?
Elvis performed Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan, the beautiful Leonard Cohen hit, Hallelujah and his single, Things My Father Said. Lloyd performed the song Push Me To The Floor by local group The Parlotones, Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars and his single, Thanks To You.
...or Lloyd Cele, definitely a fan favourite!
According to reports and speculation, it seems that Lloyd Cele will be the one to take home the coveted title, however our money is on Elvis Blue.

…So, what did you think of tonight’s Idols?
Everybody will have a different view as to who should take the coveted title of SA’s next Idol, but I’m sure we all know what to expect on this one. Within just 20 minutes the Huisgenoot Facebook group received over 230 comments all in favor of Elvis with minimum interest in Lloyd and Sindi.
South Africa, your next Idol?
I think a lot of people will blow a gasket on this one… I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for Princess Nene, but I think South Africa
As they say, it’s not over until it’s over – keep voting!

With the departure of Adeline Mocke and Pieter West from South Africa
Will Elvis make the cut tonight?
Siestog, I still remember the days of Karin, Jody and Anke who are now officially missing in action, however thus far the Producers of SA Idols certainly kept the show entertaining and fresh! The last 4 standing Elvis Blue, Boki Ntsime, Lloyd Cele and Sindi Nene will know there fate tonight – we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the gorgeous Ms. Nene!
Sindi brought the house down with her rendition of Single Ladies by Beyoncé!
Strongs girlfriend and keep rocking the tunes!
