Here are a couple of new stories concerning jerseys and uniforms from Tuesday that I thought I would pass along.
First off, the Washington Wizards unveiled their new home and away uniforms for the 2011 season.
The home uniform is white and says “wizards” in lowercase navy type. The road jersey is red and says “Washington” in white — again, lower case.
The jerseys include horizontal stripes, like Bullets jerseys of old.
The shorts have a star on the side and a “dc” logo — yup, lowercase. And apparently there is a “W” somewhere, though models John Wall and Jordan Crawford were unable to find it.
I love the changes! I was a fan of the old Bullets uniforms, so I am glad they decided to go back to the red, white, and blue. I wish they were able to change their name back, the “Wizard” mascot is super lame.
And in college football, one of those teams that have always had a tradition uniform is finally changing things up, at least for one game. InsideSoCal.com reports that USC will wear an alternate uniform for their game against UCLA this season.
OK, we have details on the alternate uniform emerging for the UCLA game. Ready?
It currently looks like USC will wear cardinal jerseys, cardinal pants and a black helmet.
This sounds like the ugliest uniform in USC history. Or something Oregon would wear. Which is what Lane Kiffin wants.
Black helmets? Sounds bad, but I will wait until I see them to judge.

Adrian Wojnarowski wrote a piece today about Del Harris leaving the Nets, but the most interesting comments from Adrian were not about Del, but the Mavericks.
There are several teams – including Houston and the Dallas Mavericks – watching the dynamic between Evans and Kevin Martin and wondering whether the Kings will become motivated to trade Martin. So far, their talents don’t seem compatible…. The Mavericks have their eyes on Philadelphia’s Andre Iguodala and Sacramento’s Martin, but a source says they’ve lost interest with the Washington Wizards’ Caron Butler

The Mavs dropped their home opener 102-91 at the AAC Tuesday night. Let me make a few observations.
