The Wolf Pack steal the box office crown as "The Hangover Part II" sitting atop the chart. The raunchy comedy debuts with approximately $86.5 million and draws an A- from CinemaScore, setting a record opening for an R-rated movie by beating "Austin Powers in Goldmember". "This blows everything out of the water. It's pretty amazing stuff," Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman told The Hollywood Reporter. "Moviegoers love all the characters, and they love the story."
"Kung Fu Panda 2" also opens strong by claiming the second place. The 3-D cartoon grosses an estimated $48 million from 3,925 theaters. Although it has a healthy debut, the action comedy film falls short of the 2008 original, which debuted with $60.2 million.
Last week's champ, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", slides to number three. The pic, which captures the fun, adventure and humor of Captain Jack Sparrow, falls about 56.4%, or grosses approximately $39.3 million.
Also moving to lower slots are "Bridesmaids" and "Thor". The comedy movie takes the fourth place by obtaining an estimated $16.4 million, while the God of Thunder film takes in approximately $9.4 million to become the fifth high-grossing film at the chart.

Adapted from Don DeLillo's novel, "Cosmopolis" revolves around a 28-year-old financial wizard and billionaire who traverses Manhattan in his stretch limo. His goal is to get a haircut at Anthony's, his father's barber, but on this day his driver has to navigate a presidential visit, an attack by anarchists and a rapper's funeral. Stuck in traffic, he anxiously monitors the value of the yen on the limo's computer, his fortune in the balance.
In addition to Pattinson, Sarah Gadon, Paul Giamatti, Jay Baruchel and Kevin Durand are among actors supporting the film. Directed by David Cronenberg, this drama thriller film is expected to make its way out Stateside in 2012.
Friday Box Office – THE HANGOVER PART II Easily Dominates with $61.6 Million Over First Two Days

Derivative? Check. Well reviewed? Not really. Kicking crazy ass at the domestic box office? Oh, hell yes. I am, of course, talking about Warner Brothers’ The Hangover Part II, the film that has already broken the one day record for a live-action comedy with its stunning $31.7 million Thursday debut. That was on top of its $10.4 million midnight take – easily the highest of 2011. Day two for the Wolf Pack brought in an additional $30 million from 3,615 locations, giving the film a current estimate of $61.6 million in total. If projections hold, The Hangover II could end up with a five day total of over $135 million and a spot in the top five of all-time (four-day) Memorial Day Weekend debuts. On the strength of this sequel, Memorial Day 2011 is going to crush the total box office take of 2010 and could even end up topping the 2007 holiday – the most profitable on record. Thursday also saw the debut of Kung Fu Panda 2, which earned an estimated $18.98 million between Thursday and Friday and is now projected to earn $55 million over the four-day Memorial Day weekend. That would be a bit below the $60.2 million the original KFP took in over its first three days back in June of 2008, but projections are not always accurate. We’ll have updates and analysis as the holiday weekend progresses.

A new image from X-Men: First Class has been released. This time, we get a look at Zoë Kravitz as Angel Salvadore. Early reviews for the film have been wildly positive. Steve saw it earlier this week and thought it was great, “a home-run.” Director Matthew Vaughn has been thinking abouta follow-up film, and even has an idea of how he would open the sequel. Directed by Vaughn, the film stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till and Caleb Landry Jones. We’ve seen Harry, Hermoine, Ron, and Neville posters for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Now it’s time for He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named/Tom Riddle/Voldemort. This is a good opportunity for me to mention that I think the franchise missed an opportunity to give Voldemort the red snake eyes that he has in the book. Perhaps they felt Ralph Fiennes couldn’t be expressive enough without human eyes, perhaps it was too expensive, or maybe it just looked goofy when put on screen. But I’ve always been curious to the what-if. But he’s still missing his nose so that’s good enough, I suppose.

Tyler Perry’s GOOD DEEDS Opens February 24; Disney Gives THE LION KING 3D Wide Release September 16

Lionsgate has scheduled Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds for release on February 24, 2012 where it will face Gone, The Devil Inside, and Lockout. This is the fourth of Perry’s movies to debut in February. Per Variety, Good Deeds revolves around “a businessman (Perry) who falls in love with a single mother just before he is skedded to marry another woman.” Thandie Newton and Gabrielle Union also star.
Disney released the first trailer for the Blu-ray release of The Lion King 3D last night. We noted that the Hollywood theater El Capitan is selling tickets for a theatrical showing in September. Today the studio announced a two-week wide release for The Lion King 3D starting September 16. The 3D Blu-ray drops on October 4. Hit the jump for the official press release with all the details.

The sequel of "Happy Feet" revolves around Mumble, the Master of Tap. He and Gloria now have a son named Erik, who is struggling to find his own particular talents in the Emperor Penguin world. However, new dangers are threatening the penguin nation.
Elijah Wood returns to lend his voice for Mumble, while Pink and EG Daily are added to provide voice for Gloria and Erik respectively. The other vocal talents include Robin Williams, Sofia Vergara, Matt Damon, and Brad Pitt. The animated film will open in 2-D and 3-D theaters across the nation on November 18.

Although it is not easy shooting 3-D, Bay believed the visual effect worked well with his upcoming film. He said, "I don't think everything's right for 3-D. This was appropriate for 3-D, and it was a way to change this movie experience and a way to feel these robots. I think it worked for this picture."
Even James Cameron, director of "Avatar", praised the movie's 3-D effects. "It's pretty cool stuff. I just saw the whole picture. I like the depth. I like the fact that you're using the 3-D aggressively and really embracing it. Like you ever do anything that's not aggressive."
Earlier this week, two new TV spots for the sequel of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" were unveiled. While they looked similar to the previous videos, one of the footages shares very quick looks at new robots.
Previously, a new snippet for film was also unleashed in 3-D. Although the scenes looked familiar, the video offered a few seconds look at Optimus Prime scene at the end.
"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" revolves around Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky and his robot friends. When a mysterious event from Earth's past erupts into the present day, it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is cast as Sam's new love interest, Carly.

Directed by Alexander Payne, the drama comedy film is a sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic journey for Clooney's Matt King, an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. The event leads to a rapprochement with his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to sell the family's land handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries.
In addition to Clooney, Judy Greer and Shailene Woodley take the roles of Joanie and Alexandra King respectively. Mary Birdsong, Beau Bridges, and Robert Forster are among other supporting actors. The upcoming movie itself is scheduled for a December 16 release in the U.S.
Previously, The Ron depicter Rupert Grint spoke about the evolution of his character to Empire Magazine. "In previous films Ron was usually quite scared all the time, that was always kind of him, but it was great to see that there was a lot more heavy emotion," so he said.
"Because he really falls in love, so there's all that story, and that really develops in Part Two particularly," he detailed." And then there's the family stuff as well. There are some quite dark things that I never really got before with Ron."
Finding Ron's different side, Grint admitted it was a good opportunity since it felt "like a different character". He further explained, "It was cool to find that side to him. It's all kind of embedded in me; we've almost become the same person over the years, sort of merged into this Ron-pert. Even now."
Given that, he claimed it was "weird" when shooting the final battle, with Hogwarts sets he had been growing up in becoming rubbles. "It really nailed that down, that this was the end. Seeing the Great Hall... The place had become quite a familiar one in our lives; we'd spent a lot of time there. And now it's on fire. There are dead bodies, dead children everywhere. It's really dark."

The 33-year-old expectant actress admitted she felt lucky to be pregnant, yet revealed she was a bit disappointed not to have had odd cravings yet. "I feel great," she said. "I haven't had any weird physical side effects. I feel pretty lucky so far. Everybody is asking if I've had any odd cravings. I haven't yet. It's a bummer. I wish I had something weird to tell."
While hitting the black carpet, January was joined by her co-stars Zoe Kravitz who wore gray gown, and Rose Byrne who sported black dress. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Lucas Till, and Kevin Bacon were among actors adding the masculine side to the premiere. While Michael, Lucas and Kevin looked neat with their outfits, James looked modest in his blue shirt and black tuxedo.
In the meantime, there were new clips released earlier on the same day. One clip, released via Yahoo! Movies, sees young mutants training their powers, including Lucas' Havoc who tries to control his power. Another clip features a scene where Kevin's Sebastian Shaw makes appearance, introducing himself to the young mutants.

First Teaser Poster for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN Part 1

Summit Entertainment has released the first official teaser poster for director Bill Condon’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. While I’m sure fans were hoping for a cool image of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, they’re going to be stuck with some clouds and the day the movie is coming out.
