I am sure we can expect all kinds of Super Bowl news over the next seven months as the hype for the big game in Arlington grows. We know that the AFC Champion will be using TCU’s practice facilities, and now we know ESPN will be joining them in Ft. Worth.

ESPN took a look at Dallas and Fort Worth to determine which would be the ideal setting for its studio shows leading up to Super Bowl XLV, and the worldwide leader in sports chose where the West begins.

Shows in ESPN's family of networks such as NFL Live will be live from Fort Worth, specifically Sundance Square, and not from Dallas or its surrounding suburbs.

The starters were named Thursday night on TNT for the 2010 NBA All-Star game at Cowboys Stadium and there was an injustice. There was more than one, but one very BIG one in particular. Dirk Nowitzki is not a starter, that honor was given to Tim Duncan. No disrespect to Tim Duncan, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

1. First and foremost, the game is at Cowboys Stadium. How do the “fans” not vote Dirk as a starter automatically? I know David Stern could have at least rigged the votes. He rigs everything else in the NBA to his likings.

2. Dirk has led his team to second place in the Western Conference and the Mavs have a better record than the Spurs. Dallas: 28-14 San Antonio: 25-16

3. Dirk is having a better season than Duncan to this point. Dirk is averaging to 25.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game compared to Duncan’s 19.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

4. Duncan plays as much or more at the center position than he does at forward.

I know the NBA prides itself in letting the fans vote, but I think this is getting ridiculous. I think they should eliminate the online voting and return to only voting in arenas so it is the paying customers of the NBA who select the players. Either that or they should be able to edit the ballots to add and remove players as needed. Allen Iverson is a starter for the Eastern Conference. Like seriously? He shouldn’t even be on the ballot.

So after last night’s game against the Raptors, Shaq spit out this idea to fix this year’s dunk contest.

Following Tuesday night's win over Toronto, O'Neal was asked if he would like to see teammate LeBron James participate in this year's event. That's when he offered his idea. He would like to see former dunk champion Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant and others take part along with James.

"As his manager, I will only allow 'Bron to do the dunk contest if Vince Carter comes back out," O'Neal said. "If Kobe comes back out and if another big name comes back out. If we could get a big prize and have half of the money go to the people of Haiti and the other half to the winner.

Oh ok, that sounds all good, but really, it is even more idiotic.

1. LeBron is still a punk for backing out and not doing this year’s dunk contest anyways

2. Kobe and Vince Carter are older now. Can they still throw down some nice dunks? Yes they can, but it won’t be the same as when those two stole the show when they were younger. Shaq is calling out Kobe and Vince because he knows LeBron would beat them. It is that simple.

3. This year’s competitors offer up a greater challenge to LeBron. Shannon Brown and Gerald Wallace can throw it down. I think “King James” is afraid to get beat by a non superstar.

I appreciate Shaq’s thoughts, but how about he tells his teammate to go out and do the dunk contest like Kobe, Vince, Jordan, D12, Dominique and the rest have ALREADY DONE! Does Shaq not get that? All those other guys have already competed and won the dunk contest, they have nothing to prove.

Those other guys didn’t preliminarily put their name into this year’s dunk contest and back out either. Big difference.
