From TCU Media Relations: TCU linebacker Tank Carder and safety Tejay Johnson have been selected to ESPN.com's All-America team.

TCU is the only school to place two players on the defensive team.

Carder and Johnson are keys to a TCU defense that leads the nation in total defense (215.4 yards) for the third straight season. The Horned Frogs also rank first in scoring defense (11.4 points), pass defense (126.3 yards), fewest first downs allowed per game (11.3), opponent third-down percentage (21.9) and three-and-outs forced per game (6.4). TCU is third in run defense (89.2 yards).

ESPN.com is the fifth All-America team for Carder. The junior from Sweeny, Texas, is fourth on the Horned Frogs with 54 tackles, including 6 1/2 for loss. He has 2 1/2 sacks. Carder is tied for second on TCU with five pass breakups while adding an interception and fumble recovery.

Johnson is a consensus first-team All-American and one of three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, presented to the nation's best defensive back.

The senior from Garland, Texas, has TCU's longest streak of consecutive starts at 37. The Horned Frogs have had the nation's No. 1 defense all three seasons Johnson has been a starter.

With three interceptions and three forced fumbles, Johnson has taken part in six turnovers this season. He ranks third on TCU with 56 tackles while adding three pass breakups.

The third-ranked Horned Frogs (12-0) face No. 5 Wisconsin (11-1) Jan. 1 in the Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO.

On Sunday, TCU defensive end Wayne Daniels was named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America. Today, CBSSports.com selected TCU safety Tejay Johnson to its first-team All-America team with linebacker Tank Carder and center Jake Kirkpatrick second-team picks.

Daniels is the fifth Horned Frog to be a first-team All-American this season. He joins linebacker Tank Carder, safety Tejay Johnson, kickoff returner Jeremy Kerley and center Jake Kirkpatrick.

One of just two unanimous first-team All-Mountain West Conference selections this year, Daniels has team-high totals of 12 tackles for loss and 6 ½ sacks.

Johnson was one of three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, presented to the nation's top defensive back. He was also a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and Rivals.com.

Johnson ranks third on TCU with 56 tackles. The senior from Garland, Texas, tops the Horned Frogs with three interceptions while tying for the team lead with three forced fumbles. He also has three pass breakups.

Kirkpatrick, recipient of the 2010 Rimington Trophy as the nation's top center, was also a first-team Walter Camp All-American.

Kirkpatrick sets the blocking scheme on each play for the third-ranked, undefeated and Rose Bowl-bound Horned Frogs.

The College Football awards show took place last night, and there were a couple of Frogs in attendance who left with high honors. Center Jake Kirkpatrick won the Rimington Trophy and was also named to the Walter Camp All-American team along with teammate Tejay Johnson.

Jake Kirkpatrick Wins Rimington Trophy

TCU's Jake Kirkpatrick has been named the winner of the 2010 Rimington Trophy, presented to the nation's most outstanding center.

Also a first-team Walter Camp All-American and the only offensive player in the last two years to be a Rotary Lombardi Award finalist, Kirkpatrick was announced as the winner Thursday night at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show televised on ESPN from Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He becomes the first center from TCU to win the award.

Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus two-time first-team All-America center at Nebraska (1981-82). He also became the Outland Trophy's only double winner as the nation's best college interior lineman.

Jake has been an instrumental part of the offensive line for TCU this season, and a major reason they still are undefeated," Rimington said. "We are extremely proud to name him the winner of the 2010 Rimington Trophy.

TCU Places Two on Walter Camp All-America Team

TCU safety Tejay Johnson and center Jake Kirkpatrick have been selected to the first-team Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America team.

The nation's oldest All-America team was announced live Thursday night on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN. Johnson and Kirkpatrick were in attendance in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

It's the first time TCU has had two first-team Walter Camp All-Americans in the same year. It's also the first time the Mountain West Conference has had a member institution with two first-team Walter Camp All-Americans in the same campaign.

TCU, Auburn and Oklahoma State were the only teams with more than one Walter Camp All-American this season.
