She was known as the ultimate in fashion elegance and style. So it was little wonder that Audrey Hepburn was the muse for Aastha Bahl's Mistletoe label called Breakfast at Tiffany's, revised for Autumn/Winter 2008 at Lakme Fashion Week.
Putting together detailing like quilting, three dimensional textures, panelling, pleating and embroidery; the very elegant and stylish cocktail line was in stretch satins with silk dupion adding to its beauty.
Recreating the glamour of her inspiration, Aastha's colours were rich with fuchsia, teal and black.
Silhouettes were feminine with blouson dress, jackets, panelled dresses, tiny boleros, some asymmetric hemlines, bubbles, full pleated dresses and tunics completing the look.
The show opened with a teal balloon dress with an elasticated bodice worn with a tiny shrug. The black panelled jacket with grey piping, the textured fuchsia/grey panelled dress with sequined belt, the pin tuck panelled jacket, the satin dress with textured funnel upper, the beautiful black ankle length jacket with stretch satin drainpipe pants and the black panelled sequin sprinkled dress with a scalloped hem were some of the eye catchers of the collection.
For the woman who wants to dress with style and panache with touches of retro styling, Aastha Bahl's Audrey Hepburn inspired line is the best buy.
