A YOUNG property tycoon is the mystery bidder who bought Kate Middleton's see-through dress for £78,000.
Nick Roberts, 34, from Jersey, made his millions as the boss of R1 Property International.
Now he wants to sink some into collectables, like his uncle, David Gainsborough Roberts, who owns some of Marilyn Monroe's dresses and Queen Victoria's undies.
Nick's identity as the auction buyer was revealed by his uncle on a radio phone-in show.
Last night a source close to Nick told The Sun: "Nick plans to put the outfit on public display, not hide it away."
It is believed the dress - which Kate wore at a St Andrews University fashion show in 2002 - may be sold again to raise money for charity.
The creator of the dress, Charlotte Todd, made an estimated £65,000 from the auction.
