A secret mission to the moon which is turned into a hell is picked up as a theme in "Apollo 18" and the first trailer has given hints how that could happen. The video debuted by Apple presents scenes in found footage style and follows two astronauts after they land on the moon.
Officially, Apollo 17 launched December 17, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But in the movie it is told that a year later two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. In the trailer, it is shown the two astronauts are threatened by something which is still not revealed.
Produced by Timur Bekmambetov, this horror sci-fi thriller comes from directorial hand of Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego with an estimated budget of $5 million. The cast line-up is not announced yet while the movie will be released in the U.S. on April 22.
