DIRK NOWITZKI NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-NBA
DALLAS- Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was named All-NBA First Team,
the NBA announced today. It is the ninth consecutive season Nowitzki has been named All-NBA and the fourth time he has garnered First Team honors
(2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07).
“It is always an honor to make the All-NBA Team,” Nowitzki said. “To be
recognized along with so many talented players means a lot to me.”
Nowitzki, the NBA’s fourth leading scorer (25.9 ppg), closed the regular
season by scoring 20+ points in each of the last 25 games dating back to
vs. Oklahoma City (2/27) – the longest such streak in the NBA this
season. Nowitzki also ranked 16th in rebounds per game (8.4) and seventh
in free throw percentage (.890) among NBA leaders.
Dallas became only the fourth franchise in NBA history to win 50 games

rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steal in 38.8 minutes while shooting 51.6

four games of the Western Conference Semifinals vs. Denver. The Mavericks
(1-3) continue their series with Game 5 tonight in Denver (8:00 PM CT,
TNT).
Nowitzki remains the only Mavericks player in franchise history to be
named All-NBA First Team and is one of only three players (Kobe Bryant,
Tim Duncan) to be named to an All-NBA Team in each of the past nine
seasons.
The 11-year NBA veteran is joined on the First Team by LeBron James
(Cleveland Cavaliers), Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic), Kobe Bryant (L.A.
