The Mavs have the chance to make some big improvements to their team this offseason. A lot of teams are in financial problems and this is Dallas’ chance to strike while the iron is hot. There is no need to wait until 2010 because it will never live up to the hype. Here are some players I want the Mavs to be looking at/watching out for this summer.
I think this guy is great. He is young, long (6’8) and is a great defender. He has a lot of athleticism and his game continues to improve, the problem is I don’t think the Lakers are going to let him walk away.
How can you not like a guy that plays as hard as he does? He is another guy that can improve the Mavs defense and bring some toughness to the team.
If the Clippers do take Blake Griffin with the #1 overall pick, that will require them to spend lots of money. Plus, they will have a lot of big men on the team with Camby, Griffin, Kaman, and Randolph. If L.A. looks to get rid of Camby, Dallas has to jump all over that.
I still think Shaq has a few good seasons left in him and he would be perfect with the Mavs. Dirk has never played with a true low post presence and I think Shaq can help elevate Dirk’s game to a new level.
I don’t know what Detroit plans on doing with their team, but I will take either one of these guys in a heartbeat if they are looking to blow that team up.
