Only one game this week is a matchup of teams ranked in the top 25 of the BCS Standings…That would be the #16 BYU Cougars taking on my #8 ranked TCU Horned Frogs. This should an outstanding game, but I totally expect TCU to come out victorious.
This is TCU’s best start since 2003 and they bring to Provo the nations 4th longest winning streak. If you remember correctly, BYU came into Ft. Worth last season and got romped on! The Frogs took a 23-0 halftime lead en route to a 32-7 win. The 24th-ranked Frogs sacked BYU quarterback Max Hall six times and allowed just 297 total yards.
BYU won’t just lie down though. The Cougars opened the season with a win over Oklahoma and has won nine consecutive games decided by seven points or fewer. Quarterback Max Hall has thrown at least two touchdown passes in every BYU game this season, and his arm is something the Frogs have to be aware of. The good thing is, Hall will have to look across the line at Jerry Hughes who has a total of 23 sacks over the last two seasons combined, which is the most in the FBS over this span.
College Gameday will be in Provo Saturday morning for their show, so make sure you tune into ESPN for that. You can catch the game on Versus at 6:30 PM or listen to the radio broadcast on 103.3 FM ESPN Radio or 88.7 KTCU.
Im a Frogs homer, so you can call me biased, but TCU is the better team. The Frogs will take care of business against BYU and continue their march on the BCS.
