Although this is a piece of good news, the Mavs are still not in the clear, and I am still nervous about this whole situation. I just want Dallas to hurry up and get a commitment from Dirk so they can move on to other pressing issues. Unfortunately, I have a feeling the Mavs are going to be left trying to pick up scraps instead of getting one of the big name guys everyone is fighting over.
Dallas Mavericks president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson presented an offer to Dirk Nowitzki's adviser, Holger Geschwindner, as their long-standing talks resumed Friday morning and could wrap up with Saturday's scheduled meeting.
The Mavericks were expected to present Nowitzki with the maximum offer. The most he can re-sign for is four years and $96 million.
