As you know, Wisconsin was attempting to setup a Rose Bowl rematch against TCU with no return game to Ft. Worth. The game was supposedly being setup by a “third party.” Everyone assumed that “third party” was UNLV attempting to get out of their game with the Badgers.

Here is the interesting part from CollegeFootballTalk.com

UW’s director of football operations, Mark Taurisani claims UNLV never made an effort to get out of the home-and-home deal with UW. That would certainly beg the question, “who is the third party and how much were they offering?”

So who is lying here? TCU Athletic Director Chris Del Conte said the Frogs were contacted by a “third party.” If it wasn’t UNLV then was it ESPN? Was ESPN trying to take a game away from UNLV that they didn’t want to give up? Is Taurisani trying to protect UNLV? It doesn't really make sense.

Just more rumors from a story that should have never been a story to begin with.
