If you missed Dirk Nowitzki’s performance last night in game one of the Western Conference Finals against the Thunder, then you missed a master piece. Dirk shot 12-15 from the field and 24-of-24 from the free throw line to finish with 48 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks. Ballin!! What more can you say?
In my opinion, Dirk’s performance was the greatest game by a Mavs player EVER. I know some might bring up Dirk’s 50 point outburst against Phoenix or his 37 points in game 7 against the San Antonio Spurs, but I think last night’s game has both of those beat.
The 50 point game against the Suns was amazing, but he wasn’t near as efficient in that game as he was last night. Against Phoenix Dirk shot 53%, last night against the Thunder he shot 80%. That’s amazing!
The Spurs game was great, and that might be Dirk’s defining “moment” but once again, he shot 55% in that game. It’s not just that he scored 48 points, it’s the way he did it. The guy shot the ball a total of 39 times, and 36 times the ball went it. That is incredible. Nobody on the Thunder had a chance at guarding him.
