So proud! Ladies and gents, this is the first ever Afrikaans film (native South African language) to be screened at the Annual Cannes Awards...and guess what - we scooped the Queer Palm Award!

The Oliver Hermanus movie features a mature South African gay man who struggles with his sexuality (after having kids himself) whilst falling in love with the 23-year old son of his friend.

The award recognizes one film for its contributions to lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender issues.

Can't wait to see this film and congratulations to the entire team!

Serendipity

s e r e n d i p i t y- An aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident;; Good fortune: Luck

Yesterday I watched this movie for the first time and I absolutely loved it. It was such a sweet movie. I think the beginning of it is why I loved it the most. It was Christmas time, it was snowing, I have a soft spot for anything Christmas. A guy and a girl met in a store grabbing the same glove at the same time and despite them each having someone at home, they instantly fell for each other. Immediately grabbing a cup of coffee was a start to a beautiful night. Just remember this was the first time they met and they already had all these feelings right away. But in order to see if what they felt actually meant anything they tested fate. Her putting her name and number in a book and him putting his name and number on a five dollar bill and then sending both items off to see if they find there ways back to each other. One elevator test separated them. Although if things didn't happen the way they did they would have been with each other off the bat but it just wasn't there time.  All that's left is the two items following a path through life to see if they end up in each others hands. Thee end. LOL, Okay, give me props. It's my first movie review. But I do highly recommend it to you hopeless romantics out there. Feel free to share your favorite romance movies. I'd love to hear your recommendations

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{ONE}
The Secret Life of an American Teenager

Yes, I watch and enjoy this show. However, I didn't watch it tonight. I rented movies at the library and have been watching them. The most I can rent is three at a time. I'm almost done with all three so I guess I'll be back at the library tomorrow for more, ugh! Back to my point, this show comes on every Monday. At 7 the repeat from the previous week comes on and at 8 the new episode comes on. I decided I'm just going to watch this every other Monday so I get two new episodes instead of one.

{TWO}
Sweet Home Alabama

One out of the three movies I rented and as I type I'm watching this. This is the first time I've seen this and so far I really like it. Haven't quite got to this part ^^^ yet but I have a feeling I'm going to like it even more. I love Alabama accents, I really want to go there one day. It's funny, Florida's the most southern state but it's not considered the south. It's like another country. We don't have cute accents, we just talk like we're from the valley. [like omg] to tell you the truth I'm tired of that. Right now Alabama and Michigan are sounding like lovely places to live. Move with me? [I'm gonna blog about this one day]

The hotness better known as Seann William Scott is back in American Pie and we can’t be any happier. Yes, that’s right! Steve Stifler will be back with actors Jason Biggs and Eugene Levy and under discussion is Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge.

Holy mother of muscles!

Can you believe it’s already 12 years back since the first movie – are you looking forward…you know that we do!

Can you say Justin Bieber, Locnville and Edward Cullen in one breath without passing out...with lust? Sis, get your mind out of the gutters!

The wonderful team at Heat Magazine has put together a new teen magazine "Heat BFF" aimed at the younger generation and to be distributed along with the Heat Magazine later this week. I honestly think this is a stunning idea in order to keep it fresh, innovative and to "fish" in all available markets.

Early bird catches the worm - congrats Heat, love the idea!
