The 2010 Cowboys Classic between TCU and Oregon State is now only a month away and I can feel the anticipation building. TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson, Oregon State Head Coach Mike Riley, and ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit held a teleconference this afternoon discussing this matchup.
Both coaches are extremely excited about this game, and Coach Patterson said “the team that does win will end up with a great jump start to their season.” The coaches spoke about their teams, how this matchup came to be, and more. (It’s 38 minutes long) To hear the full teleconference, you can listen below.
A couple things I wanted to point out from a TCU perspective.
- Coach Patterson spoke about how much recruiting has changed since making an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl. He said that the Frogs national perception is much stronger now.
- For Frog fans worrying about the Amon G. Carter Stadium renovation, Coach Patterson specifically said “we are going to have a new stadium coming up.”
