According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal (via Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post), Tebow has declined "some seven-figure per year deals" because he believed they would interfere with his focus on football. "I'm trying to work hard and not get my mind cluttered with all that," Tebow said. "When it gets to the point when something needs to be presented to me, I see it. Right now, it's all ball for me."

I’m not a fan of Tebow, I think the Broncos gave up to much to draft him, but I am not going to sit here and bash him for turning down the money. I don’t know if it’s a smart decision though.

There are no guarantees that the endorsements and that type of money will be around forever. If he excels on the field, he is right, those offers will always be there. But…what if he doesn’t have a successful NFL career? What if he gets injured? At some point you have to think about the future instead of the here and now.
