From TCU Media Relations- Allstate Insurance Company and the American Football Coaches Association have announced that TCU preseason All-America safety Tejay Johnson has been nominated for the 2010 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes the top student-athletes in the areas of giving back, volunteerism and standing out for the positive influence they have in their communities.
A senior from Garland, Texas, Johnson is a habilitation of the deaf/hard of hearing major. He mentors middle school kids, volunteers at a homeless shelter and participates in Big Brothers/Big Sisters events. Among a myriad of campus involvement, Johnson is a member of TCU's gospel choir and the secretary and historian for the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Johnson appears on watch lists for the Lott Trophy and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
