There seems to be a lot of delusional Baylor supporters that think Art Briles is a superior coach to TCU’s Gary Patterson. We all know that’s wrong, but let me point out a fact. If you go back to 2005 when Art Briles took over his first college head coaching position with Houston, and compare the two coach’s records against the Big XII, you would see that Patterson has beaten more Big XII opponents than Briles, a guy who has actually coached in the Big XII for two seasons now.
Gary Patterson
- TCU is 5-2 versus the Big 12 since 2005.
- 2005- Won @ OU, Won vs. Iowa State in Houston Bowl
- 2006- Won @ Baylor, Won vs. Texas Tech
- 2007- Won vs. Baylor
Art Briles
- Art Briles: 3-13 vs. Big XII while at Baylor
- 2008- Won vs. Iowa State, Won vs. Texas A&M
- 2009- Won @ Missouri
- In 2006 with Houston, won vs. Oklahoma State
I know what’s coming, 5 vs. 4 isn’t that huge of a difference. Well, when you consider Briles has coached in the Big XII for two seasons and has only come up with 3 wins in 16 tries, it is a pretty big difference. I’m not disrespecting Briles, I think he is a solid coach, but at this point in his career, he isn’t close to being on the level that Patterson is.
**You have to give me props on the photoshop right? That’s hilarious!**
