I underestimated the Frogs on Saturday night. I thought they would only put up 52 points, but they took it a step further and beat up Tennessee Tech 62-7 to improve to 28-3 in their last 31 contests. TCU extended its home winning streak to 15 games and are 57-6 in their last 63 home dates at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
It’s hard to judge a team when they play inferior competition, but I know the game wasn’t perfect on the TCU end. There were WAY too many penalties. You cannot have that many holding flags and other nonsense and expect to beat quality opponents.
- Andy Dalton was 15-of-21 for 182 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for a 19-yard TD. The passing looked a lot better in this game, but there were still a couple errant passes that could have easily been intercepted.
- Wayne Daniels looks to be the man stepping up to fill Jerry Hughes’ shoes. Daniels totaled 1 1/2 sacks and now has 3 1/2 on the season. Stansly Maponga also added a sack and pressured the QB all night long.
- Jeff Olson started at left tackle. I don’t think there is anything wrong with Marcus Cannon, it's more of a precautionary thing I think. At least I hope. Antoine Hicks also did not play.
- Alex Ibiloye accounted for three of the Frogs’ six forced fumbles. Ibiloye’s total was more than any Frog amassed during the entire 2009 season. The TCU defense was everywhere and Tennessee Tech had no answer for the Frogs speed.
Now that we’ve got this one out of the way, it’s time to focus on the pathetic program down in Waco.
Go FROGS!!!
