The Mavs played bad on Sunday, but with a few adjustments they could take game two tomorrow night in Denver. The Nuggets played a good game, but they aren’t unbeatable. Here is what Coach Carlisle needs to do…
- I know Carlisle was trying to ride the hot hand with Barea because he had so much success against the Spurs, but this series is totally different. J.J. has proven he can play in this league but you have to use him at the right times. Wright has better size for this series and I think they should utilize it.
- JET hasn’t had that great of a post season thus far and the Mavs really need him to get it going. Carlisle should run a few plays for him early on to try and get him in a rhythm.
- If Damp can’t do the job then get someone in there that will at least try. If you have to use Hollins then use the guy. He brings energy and athleticism which is what the Mavs need. If he can’t do it then try Bass in heavy minutes. Something!
- The Nuggets play more loosely and feed off the crowd when they have the lead and are making big plays. The Mavs need to control the tempo, and play their game. Dallas did a good job of that in the first quarter limiting Denver to 16 points. Jason Kidd has got to run the offense better, and have fewer turnovers. Those lazy passes lead to big plays which get the crowd back into the game.
