According to ESPN.com blogger Brian Bennett, it’s basically up to TCU to decide whether or not they want to join the Big East Conference.
Phil (Cleveland): Has TCU been officially extended an invitation by the Big East? Or is this still in the back room discussion stage?
Brian Bennett: My understanding is that it's up to TCU to decide if it wants to make that move. I believe the Big East would bend over backward to welcome the Horned Frogs.
The way he phrases it sounds like the Big East has already extended some kind of invite, or if TCU decides they want to join, the Big East would then extend the invite. The Big East wouldn’t want to invite TCU then be turned down.
Take it for what it’s worth.
