The Dallas Cowboys continue to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to their stadium, and this newest announcement is just that. The Cowboys will be using special 3D technology at this Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

From BroadcastingCable.com

During their game against the San Diego Chargers at Cowboys Stadium, the Cowboys will use the giant (160 by 72-foot) video wall that hangs 90 feet above the field to show 3D “anaglyph” images that will be created using HDLogix’s 2D to 3D conversion system, ImageIQ3D. It will take feeds from the teams’ in-stadium cameras and convert them to 3D for display on the giant LED video wall. The Cowboys will distribute the red & blue glasses required to watch the anaglyph 3D images to the 80,000-odd fans attending the game, and plan to begin showing the 3D images during halftime and throughout the second half.

Ok, this sounds like a really cool idea, but I have a few problems…

1. Isn’t the live action on the field considered real life 3D? I could understand this for people watching at home, but I think it is kind of weird for the people in the stadium.

2. I can’t wait to see 80,000 Cowboys fans wearing those cheesy glasses.

3. My biggest problem with 3D is those stupid blue and red glasses you have to wear. I just don’t think 3D TV and movies will become popular until they find a way to get rid of those.

Look at it this way Cowboys fans…You can now watch your Cowboys suck in a whole new dimension.
