Big day at the American Airlines Center for the Mavs and Mavs fans today. They held their introductory press conference for the returning (Jason Kidd) and new (Drew Gooden, Shawn Marion, Tim Thomas, etc..) players.
- The Mavericks unveiled their new alternate jersey. At first I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of having another blue jersey, but it is growing on me. It looked a lot better than I thought it would, but I still like the old green one better. I think their alternate should be an old throwback Mavs jersey. At least use the old lettering or something.
- The Mavs also had their brand new HD screens on display. These things are great! All in HD and they are crystal clear and really nice to look at.
- It seemed all the new Mavs were happy to be in Dallas. Shawn Marion even mentioned that Dallas was on the list of places he would like to retire.
- Drew Gooden shaved his awesome goatee along with that weird patch on the back of his head. Drew said he has no problem competing for minutes and would like to fill whatever roll Coach Carlisle has for him.
- When any player were asked to describe new Mav Shawn Marion, they all say the same thing, “he is a character.” You can definitely see why if you check out the audio below. The Matrix had us cracking up.
