It’s a bad day for college football as another University has decided to go along with the gimmick that Boise State started. Eastern Washington University has begun its instillation of their brand new, bright red field turf.
The first truckload of red artificial turf arrived earlier this week in Cheney and officials are expected to have the installation completed by Sept. 3. The Division I-AA Eagles are scheduled to play their first game on the surface Sept. 18 against Montana. Eastern Washington said the project will save the school nearly $12,000 in field maintenance and nearly 300,000 gallons of water annually
I am all for saving money and water, but you could have saved that by installing normal, green turf in your stadium. This is ridiculous and the University should be embarrassed by actually going forward with this plan. Grass isn’t supposed to red, and I hope this terrible idea ends up backfiring on them.
