From TCU Media Relations: TCU quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver Jeremy Kerley have garnered Mountain West Conference Player of the Week accolades for their efforts in the fourth-ranked Horned Frogs' 31-3 win over BYU Saturday.
Dalton was tabbed the MWC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season and fifth time in his career. He tied a career-high with four touchdown passes while throwing for a season-best 273 yards. He completed 24-of-36 attempts. His 66.7 completion percentage against the Cougars matches his season mark as well. It's on pace to shatter the TCU single-season record for completion percentage.
Kerley is the MWC Special Teams Player of the Week after totaling 137 return yards. He was instrumental in the Horned Frogs having an average starting field position of their own 43. The senior from Hutto, Texas, returned two kickoffs for 81 yards (40.5 average) and four punts for 56 yards (14.0 average).
Kerley added five receptions, including a 21-yard touchdown, as he totaled 162 all-purpose yards. Kerley is the only player in the nation to rank in the top 12 in punt returns and the top 16 in kickoff returns.
