It looks as if the Mountain West Conference is going to be proactive in the conference expansion madness of 2010. ESPN is reporting that two sources close to the situation say “it is more than likely” that Boise State will be invited to the Mountain West Conference next month.

ESPN’s Nation College Football writer Joe Schad had this up on his Twitter page:

Here is something you need to remember that is very important… if the Mountain West Conference wants Boise State’s performance in the 2008-10 seasons to be included in the formula that determines whether the Mountain West receives an automatic BCS bid for the next cycle of games, then the Broncos must be a member of the MWC in 2011. For them to be a member in 2011, they must be invited to the Conference by July 1, 2010.
