When you sit down tomorrow night at 9:30 you will be disappointed to see that there is not a new episode of “Eastbound and Down” on. Last Sunday’s sixth episode was the last of the season and I still haven’t seen if they will pick it up for a second.

This show is so HILARIOUS that HBO has got to pick it up for at least one more season. I have not talked to anyone who hasn’t liked it. The Kenny Powers character is greatness and he really does remind you of some of these professional athletes out there today. (See Ryan Leaf and John Rocker)

Reviews thanks to Wikipedia

Eastbound & Down has received positive to average reviews, and currently holds a 62/100 rating on Metacritic based on 16 reviews. The best coming from Entertainment Weekly, who says "What lifts Eastbound & Down away from mere crud ball humor is McBride's ongoing love affair with the lower middle class." Its worst come from the San Francisco Chronicle saying, "It seems like a middling Fox series with a monotonous glut of obscenities and some nudity tossed in to make it pay-cable worthy."

The show was notably also given a highly favorable review in The New Yorker, in which TV critic Nancy Franklin suggested Kenny Powers would be as memorable a character as David Brent from the British sitcom The Office.

I don’t think this will be some long running series because it’s a hard story line to keep going but I need at least one more season of this show.

Go to the official Eastbound and Down Website.

I leave you with some hilarious clips.

Very first show opening.
