From TCU- TCU offensive tackle Marcus Cannon has been named to Playboy's 2010 Preseason All-America Team with Gary Patterson tabbed the magazine's Coach of the Year.

The 6-foot-5, 350-pound Cannon had a dominant 2009 campaign in being a first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection. The senior from Odessa, Texas, did not allow a sack. He's been ranked by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. as the third-best offensive tackle available in the 2011 National Football League draft.

Cannon, who appears on the 2010 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List, has also been named to preseason All-America teams by Phil Steele's 2010 College Football Preview and NationalChamps.net.

Cannon has previously been tabbed a Top 10 Workout Warrior by ESPN.com. He's started all but two games over the last two seasons.

Patterson received nine National Coach of the Year honors last season in leading TCU to a 12-1 record, No. 6 ranking and its first BCS appearance.

In 2009, TCU posted just the second 12-win season in its history, matched only by its 1935 national championship team. The Horned Frogs had their first undefeated regular season since their 1938 national title campaign.

Patterson has guided the Horned Frogs to three top-10 rankings in the last five seasons. TCU has led the nation in defense each of the last two campaigns and four times since 2000.

Patterson's 85-28 (.752) record ranks fourth among active coaches with a minimum of five years experience in the Football Bowl Subdivision. It's the best mark among the four coaches at TCU to be on the sideline for at least 100 games.
