As we continue our breakdown of the Rose Bowl, today I wanted to look at special teams. I have a feeling that special teams could be a game changer for TCU against Wisconsin.

First, take a look at the special teams numbers below.

Punt Returns:
5. TCU- 14.81 yds.
27. Wisconsin- 11.12 yds.

Punt Return Yardage Defense:
40. TCU- 7.2 yds.
103. Wisconsin- 12.00 yds.

Kickoff Returns:
5. TCU- 26.68 yds.
37. Wisconsin- 22.84 yds.

Kickoff Return Yardage Defense:
37. TCU- 20.52 yds.
106. Wisconsin- 24.36 yds.

When you combine the average to below average special teams play of Wisconsin with the big play ability of TCU return man Jeremy Kerley, it could be a deadly combination. Jeremy Kerley ranks second in the MWC and 17th nationally with a punt return average of 12.9. He has 388 total yards on 30 punt returns. Kerley ranks third in the league and tied for 18th nationally with a kick return average of 28.0. I am expecting a big day from Kerley both on offense and special teams.
