The divisional round of the NFL playoffs gets kicked off here in a few hours, so I have to get my picks in for this weekend’s games.
If both teams don’t put up over 35 points I am going to be disappointed. These are two of the highest powered offenses in the league and I am expecting a show. I would feel more comfortable picking the Cardinals if Anquan Boldin was playing, but he is out and winning in New Orleans isn’t an easy thing to do. I think the home field advantage will be too much and the Saints pull it out with a late field goal.
Ravens @ Colts
Indianapolis comes in here with the most pressure in my opinion. They decided to rest players and not go for 16-0, and if they lose, the organization will be highly criticized for making that decision. Baltimore wasn’t expected to get past New England and is playing with house money. Ray Rice has been an absolute monster this season. If the Ravens can establish the run, it could be a long day for the Colts. I just don’t see Payton Manning losing this game today at home. He has been so good this entire season, and I don’t see him letting up. I have the Colts over Baltimore by a touchdown.
The Cowboys are the hottest team playing right now, and the Vikings kind of cooled down at the end of the regular season. Minnesota is 8-0 at home this season and has proven that it is as tough a place to play as anywhere in the NFL. I just believe the Cowboys defense is playing too good right now, and they will be able to get pressure on Brett Favre. Favre has never played that great against the Cowboys and that streak will continue. Cowboys take care of the Vikings in their own building.
I think the Jets are completely overrated. Yes, their defense is solid, but I just don’t like the other parts of their team. I picked the Chargers to go to the Super Bowl and I am not backing off that now. San Diego beats New York by 10 points because Mark Sanchez throws two interceptions.
