This week’s Random Mav of the Week had a short sting here in Dallas and was drafted 19th by the Mavericks in 1994. (Same year Dallas drafted Jason Kidd) He appeared in 143 games for the Mavs and averaged 7.3 points per game for his career.

This guy joined the team right around the time I started going to a lot of Maverick games so I am very familiar with his work.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM MAV OF THE WEEK IS…..

Tony Dumas

From Tony’s Wikipedia

Dumas played collegiately at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). He was the all-time leading scorer in UMKC history upon the completion of his career, with 2,459 career points. His senior season, he finished seventh in the NCAA in scoring at 27.0 points per game. He is also the only player in UMKC history to be drafted into the NBA.

Dumas was selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1st round (19th overall) of the 1994 NBA Draft. He played four seasons in the NBA, mainly for the Mavericks. He did have a two brief stints with the Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Congratulations to Tony Dumas, he is this week’s Random Mav of the Week
