It looks like the injury bug has hit a couple Cowboys. Mike Jenkins went down with an ankle injury and Terence Newman is nursing a strained left groin. Surprise! You mean to tell me Newman is injured?
I like Mike Jenkins. I think he will be able to be a sold corner in this league. Not sure if he could be a Pro Bowler, but he is a serviceable corner.Jenkins hurt his ankle last week and is listed as day to day. The reports I have read say it isn’t a high ankle sprain, so that is at least good news.
As for Terence Newman, he has suffered injuries in training camp the last two years. I’m not going to rag on a dude for having injury problems because he most likely can’t help that, but…This guy is the most overrated and over hyped cornerback in the league. Even when he is healthy, he isn’t impressive. Now, it appears that he won’t participate in the first preseason game.
