The Mavs twelve game winning streak has been filled with great performances. Jason Kidd has been incredible, Dirk Nowitzki is the Western Conference Player of the Week for two straight weeks, Caron Butler looks more comfortable, and Roddy Beaubois busted onto the scene. I feel there is one Maverick that has been slightly overlooked though.

Shawn Marion has been fantastic as of late. Yes, he occasionally misses a close shot that he probably should have made, but for the most part, he has been solid. Over the past seven games Shawn Marion has been a huge contributor to this Maverick winning streak.

The Matrix over the past 7 games:

02/26 @ Atlanta: 7-11 for 14 pts, 5 reb, 2 blocks

02/28 vs. New Orleans: 4-8 for 9 points, 7 reb

03/01 @ Charlotte: 3-6 for 6 points, 5 reb, 1 block, 3 steals

03/03 vs. Minnesota: 8-14 for 17 points, 7 reb, 1 block

03/05 vs. Sacramento: 5-7 for 12 points, 7 reb, 1 block

03/06 @ Chicago: 9-12 for 18 points, 4 reb, 2 blocks, 2 steals

03/08 @ Minnesota: 14-25 for 29 points, 14 rebounds

Averaging 15 points and 7 rebounds per game over the last seven games.

The Matrix does the little things that sometimes get overlooked. The Mavs run no plays for him and he gets his shots by being around the basket and getting open. He is also a solid rebounder and arguably the Mavs best one-on-one defender. I know various fans have been disappointed with some of his performances this season, but Marion will be a huge key to a long Mavericks playoff run.
