The game of the week on the college football slate is #3 TCU visiting #5 Utah on Saturday afternoon. It will be a very intense game and it could go either way if the teams follow my keys to victory.

Utah beats TCU if…

- The Utah offensive line controls the line of scrimmage. Everyone knows how fast and physical the TCU defense is. If the Utes o-line can control the TCU front seven, it will create open running and passing lanes.

- Jordan Wynn stays off the ground. If the TCU defense gets to Wynn early, it could rattle him. Last year in Ft. Worth was a nightmare for Wynn. Utah can’t afford to have that happen this time around.

- The Utah defense causes turnovers. I believe the Utes defense will have to cause at least one turnover, maybe two to win this game.

- Make Andy Dalton beat you. Some teams have had success with this (Boise) other teams haven’t (BYU). If you can shut down the run and have good coverage on the receivers, you can force Dalton into bad decisions. If you don’t have the secondary to shut down the pass, Dalton can torch you.

TCU beats Utah if…

- TCU takes the crowd out of it early. Rice-Eccles Stadium is a tough place to play and if TCU can get up early, it will take the Utah crowd right out of the game.

- Get Jeremy Kerley the ball. Kerley was hurt for the 2008 game in Utah and it was big void for the Frogs. TCU needs to get the ball in his hands early and often. Kerley possesses the greatest big play threat, and TCU has to get him involved.

- Run the ball and control the clock. TCU has had a tendency to get away from the run in some games, and that doesn’t need to happen in Salt Lake City. The Frogs need to put an emphasis on the running game and keep the Utah offense off the field. The Horned Frogs are 49-2 in their last 51 games when leading in time of possession.

- Andy Dalton protects the ball. If Dalton plays a clean game with no turnovers, I don’t think there is any way Utah wins. Period.

- The TCU defense pressures Jordan Wynn. The Frogs need to attack and attack some more. Sack him, knock him down, and get in his face. Do whatever you can to rattle his confidence.
