TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes, offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse and linebacker Daryl Washington will participate in the 2010 National Football League Combine Feb. 24 to March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Hughes, Newhouse and Washington were All-Americans in 2009 as the Horned Frogs (12-1) won the Mountain West Conference championship and made their first BCS appearance.
Hughes is only the second two-time consensus All-American in TCU history and the 2009 recipient of the Lott Trophy and Ted Hendricks Award. He had 16 ½ tackles for loss, including 11 1/2 sacks, among a career-high 58 stops this season. Hughes topped the nation last year with 15 sacks and six forced fumbles.
Washington led TCU with 109 tackles, the most stops by a Horned Frog since 2004 (Martin Patterson, 131). Washington was a Dick Butkus Award semifinalist. His 11 tackles for loss, including 3 1/2 in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, placed second on TCU behind only Hughes.
A three-time All-Mountain West Conference selection, Newhouse started all but one game over the last three seasons.
Hughes and Washington will play in the Jan. 30 Senior Bowl, while Newhouse will appear in the Jan. 23 East-West Shrine Game.
