I am a few days late on this, but I have been meaning to address it. Sporting News recently came out with their 2010 All-Texas team. Offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, linebacker Tank Carder, placekicker Ross Evans, defensive tackle Cory Grant and punt returner Jeremy Kerley all made the list, but there is one HUGE name that didn't make the cut…Andy Dalton.
Who is the QB for this “All-Texas” team you might ask? Well, that would be Case Keenum, the quarterback for the University of Houston. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to put Case Keenum down at all in any way, but how is the quarterback who leads the Nation in wins not at the top of your list?
Dalton ranked eighth in the nation in passing efficiency with a 151.8 rating, and among active quarterbacks, he ranks third in lowest interception percentage. Keenum is a nice QB, but he is in a system that demands he put up huge numbers. Plus, Dalton plays against tougher talent.
Maybe I am biased here, but that selection is not the right one.
