Couple of quick stories to pass along for today in case you missed them.
First, Athletic Director Chris Del Conte released another edition of Notes on a Scorecard and included an update on fund raising for the stadium.
We are hopeful of completing fundraising to renovate the east side of Amon G. Carter Stadium after the 2011 season. As part of the project, we would incorporate an east plaza that would include a Circle of Excellence with an academic component recognizing our endowed scholarship donors.
Also, the Super Bowl might be gone, but the city of Ft. Worth is still trying to develop their relationship with ESPN even further.
David DuBois, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, said Tuesday morning that a trip to Connecticut is already planned to continue the city's wooing of ESPN. He said that within the next month, he and other Fort Worth officials will pitch the network on return visits for College GameDay telecasts of Texas Christian University game and also for Monday Night Football games at Cowboys Stadium.
I know Ft. Worth enjoyed hosting ESPN for the Super Bowl, and the ESPN employees loved Ft. Worth. Hopefully that is a relationship that continues to build.
