Rumors have been swirling today about Tennessee possibly being interested in TCU head coach Gary Patterson. If all reports are correct to this point, it looks as if the Vols aren’t interested, Gary Patterson isn’t interested, or a mixture of both.
Other coaches Hamilton may consider include Duke coach and former Tennessee offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe and East Carolina coach Skip Holtz.
TCU coach Gary Patterson told the AP on Wednesday night that neither he nor his agent had been contacted by Tennessee.
TCU coach Gary Patterson has not had any contact with Tennessee officials and has no plans to meet with them, he said Wednesday night through the TCU media relations department.
Mark Cohen, TCU media relations director, said he spoke with Patterson just after 5 p.m. CT in the TCU athletic offices, and the coach said he had not heard from anyone associated with the Volunteers' search for a new coach.
