become that hero

Today in my class we watched a video of a man named Phil (No not Dr. Phil), who talked about a real life situation he encountered:

A black man in a subway station with 2 kids is standing in a crowd of about 40 people. A white man falls into the subway tracks vertically from a seizure. Those 40 some odd people STAND THERE doing NOTHING. The black man yells to a stranger to watch his kids and jumps onto the subway track, drags the mans body parallel on the tracks and covers the mans body with his own, (because he doesn't have time to pull him off the tracks) as the subway passes over them.
The subway train was 1 INCH away from taking off the black mans head. 1 INCH!!!! After the subway passes, the black man pulls the white man out of the subway track and paramedics rush in.

The news crew that interviewed the black man asked, why would you risk your life to save this white man you don't know, the black man replied, " I did what anyone OUGHT to do in a situation like that."

Can I get an AMEN for my brotha??

I think we all just need to realize and remember this:

Most hero’s are everyday people.

Always act when other people are passive.

Take that path -become that hero.
