The men’s U.S. Soccer team didn’t get the win, but fought hard for their 2-2 tie against Costa Rica tonight. With that draw the U.S. clinched the number one spot in their group edging out Mexico. Now to look forward to South Africa in 2010!

The United States didn’t leave D.C. all smiles though. Everyone has heard the news that transpired over the last two days with Charlie Davies who was involved in a serious car wreck. Tonight the U.S. lost Oguchi Onyewu to a torn patellar tendon which will cause him to miss 3-4 months. Onyewu should be good to go for the World Cup, as for Davies, his trip to South Africa at this point is very doubtful.
