Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Nov. 9-15. Nowitzki earns the honor for the first time this season and for the 11^th time in his career.

Nowitzki led the Mavericks to a 3-1 week with a win at home against Houston followed by a pair of road victories in Minnesota and Detroit. Nowitzki averaged 24.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 blocks with a pair of double-doubles in that span. The forward made 26 of his 27 attempts from the free throw line including consecutive games (vs. Houston, at San Antonio) in which he went 10-for-10.

In the Mavericks’ 89-77 win at Minnesota on Friday, Nowitzki recorded his fourth double-double with 20 points (8-15 FGs, 1-3 3FGs, 3-4 FTs) and 11 rebounds in 29 minutes. The 12^th year pro had 15 points, six rebounds and three blocks in the third quarter as the Mavericks led by as many as 21 points in the period.

Nowitzki ranks among NBA leaders in scoring (7^th, 25.7 ppg), free throw percentage (7^th, .915) and blocks per game (16^th, 1.7). He leads the Mavericks (7-3 overall) in scoring, double-doubles (4) and minutes (37.5).

Bucks rookie Brandon Jennings joins Nowitzki as Eastern Conference Player of the Week. The Bucks host the Mavericks tonight at 7:00 p.m.
