TCU Stomps Utah 55-28

*TCU has won 12 in a row, the nation's third-longest current winning streak (Florida 20, Texas 14). The Horned Frogs have their longest winning streak since a 13-game run over the final 10 contests in 2005 and the opening three games in 2006. At the time, it was the nation's longest winning streak.

*At 10-0, TCU is off to its best start since 2003, when it also won its opening 10 games. The Horned Frogs are 10-0 for only the second time since their 1938 national championship season and the fourth time in their history (1935, 1938, 2005). In two of the three previous campaigns (1935, 1938), TCU captured the national title.

*The Horned Frogs are one of six undefeated teams in the nation.

*Following the game, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said the following, "I have been a head coach for five years, and that is the best team I've faced."

*Tonight's crowd of 50,307 set a TCU single-game attendance record. It was also the largest crowd in the 79-year history of Amon G. Carter Stadium. The previous mark was 47,280 against Texas on Nov. 17, 1984.

*Representatives from the Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl and Rose Bowl were in attendance.

*TCU has outscored its opponents 233-53 in its last five games while allowing just six touchdowns.

*The Horned Frogs rushed for 342 yards and totaled 549 of offense, marking the third-straight game the Frogs have exceeded the 300-yard rushing mark and the 500-yard mark in total offense.

*The Horned Frogs extended their home winning streak to 13 games. Dating back to 1999, TCU is 55-6 in its last 61 home games at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

*TCU's seniors picked up their 40th victory, leaving them two shy of becoming the all-time winningest class in school history. The record of 41 wins was set by last year's seniors (2005-08).

*TCU scored on its opening drive of the game for the fifth time (four touchdowns, one field goal) this season.

*A 10-yard scoring run by Utah's Shaky Smithson with 4:48 left in the first quarter marked the first touchdown the Horned Frogs allowed in their last three home games. Colorado State had two field goals in a 44-6 TCU win (Oct. 17). The Horned Frogs then blanked UNLV 41-0 (Oct. 31).

*TCU was even with Utah in the turnover battle, improving to 44-1 the last five seasons when ahead (31-1) or even (13-0) in that category.

*TCU led at the half (38-14) for the ninth time in 10 games this season. It's the second-straight week the Horned Frogs have led at the half by at least 24 points. TCU led 31-6 last week at San Diego State.

*When Utah reached the red zone on its second possession of the game, it snapped TCU's streak of 10 consecutive quarters without an opponent reaching the Horned Frog 20.

*TCU's 38 points were its most at the half since leading Stephen F. Austin 42-7 at the break last year.

*The Horned Frogs improved to 8-6 against ranked teams under head coach Gary Patterson.

*TCU scored in its 213th consecutive game, the nation's third-longest current streak without being blanked. It ranks 14th all-time.

*TCU scored at least 30 points for the eighth time in 10 games this season. The Horned Frogs topped the 40-point mark for the fifth time while scoring at least 50 points for the third time.
