What a game from Dirk Nowitzki last night! Not only did the Big German drop 40 points, 29 of them in the 4th quarter. Dirk also added 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 blocks, and 2 steals. If that isn’t a dominating stat line then I don’t know what is. The Mavs went on to down the Jazz 96-85 at the AAC.
I think that was the most dominant performance I have seen from Dirk since he dropped 50 points on the Suns in 2006. What made this ever better is that Dirk wasn’t settling for jump shots. He was driving the ball to the rim and was able to convert or get to the line. This is Nowitzki’s 13th career 40-point outing. He had a career-high 4 40+ point games last season. The Mavericks improve to 10-3 when Nowitzki scores 40 points.
Dallas takes on New Orleans tonight. It won be an easy matchup as the Hornets have played the Mavs tough over the past few years and it comes on the second night of a back-to-back. Catch all the action on 103.3 FM ESPN Radio starting at 7:00 PM.
